Mike Tomlin welcomed Shedeur Sanders to Pittsburgh during the star prospect’s visit with the Steelers just a few weeks before the draft. The quarterback who shined at Colorado in college football was impressed by the head coach and even compared him to his father, Deion Sanders.
“I understand his mindset and why they win a lot. They win a lot because of how he is as a person. Just the values that the team has and what he preaches from his staff down it’s similar to like my dad.”
The Steelers haven’t won the Super Bowl in over 16 years, which is why finding the franchise quarterback of the future is a priority. For now, Aaron Rodgers is their option in win-now mode, but looking ahead, Shedeur could be the ideal man for the job.
Who will be Steelers QB?
Aaron Rodgers, Shedeur Sanders, Jaxson Dart, Jalen Milroe, or Will Howard could be the next quarterback for the Steelers, as all of those names have appeared in multiple reports as targets of interest for the team.
However, as of today, the reality is that the player currently at the top of the depth chart is Mason Rudolph, but inevitably, the quarterback position will be addressed. The other big question is whether Shedeur will fall to the No. 21 spot in the draft so the Steelers have a chance to select him.
