The New York Giants are aiming to return to the NFL spotlight, and they’re doing so by bolstering their roster in a big way. After landing veteran quarterback Russell Wilson, the team is now reportedly eyeing another major addition — a current teammate of Jalen Hurts on the Philadelphia Eagles and a recent Super Bowl champion.

According to the latest reports from ESPN’s Jordan Raanan, the player drawing serious interest from the Big Apple franchise is the talented Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert. While no formal negotiations have taken place yet, the possibility of bringing him in for the upcoming season is very much alive — and generating plenty of buzz around the league.

“I heard at one point they looked into Dallas Goedert,” Raanan said on Giants After Dark. “He sounds like a guy who is going to get traded at some point in this draft.

“Now, I am not expecting Dallas Goedert to get traded to the Giants, but the fact that they checked in on it definitely made me scratch my head a little bit. . . It’s something they are at least monitoring.”

However, the potential arrival of Goedert has little to do with what might happen with rookie tight end Theo Johnson. “They do think highly of Theo Johnson. They think he can be a significant player,” Raanan said. “Russell Wilson said he could be a star.”

Howie Roseman speaks out on Goedert’s future

Dallas Goedert’s future with the Eagles remains uncertain, fueling recent rumors about the Giants’ interest in bringing the tight end to New York. Addressing this situation — along with the team’s approach to the upcoming NFL Draft — Eagles GM Howie Roseman recently spoke out.

“The way we look at the draft is it’s a separate entity to anything else that’s going on,” Roseman told reporters Tuesday, via team transcript, when asked about Goedert’s current status and how can this affect the upcoming Draft.

“We’ve got to make good decisions in the draft based on who the players are that are available in the draft. We can’t make up any positions and make them better than they’re not. We have to really have a true process. So, it really doesn’t affect us,” he finally concluded.
