To everyone’s surprise, Jake Paul is currently one of the most prominent figures in the boxing world. The influencer has taken his ambition of becoming a professional boxer very seriously, and he’s making a real statement.

Most recently, Jake Paul defeated Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., a former world champion. That victory earned him a spot among the top cruiserweights according to the WBA, and he’s now looking to climb even higher.

After defeating Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. by unanimous decision, Jake Paul secured a place in the WBA rankings. The World Boxing Association now lists him as the No. 14 cruiserweight, surrounded by some of the division’s top names.

Jake Paul wants to become the No. 1 boxer in the world, but to get there, he’ll have to face elite competition. That’s why he has reportedly agreed to fight one of the best in the sport today.

Turki Al-Sheikh, Saudi boxing chief, has confirmed that Jake Paul has already given a verbal “yes” to facing Anthony Joshua. “Jake Paul accepted now,” Al-Sheikh said on Tha Boxing Voice podcast. “Next week, I will talk with Joshua about it.”

Al-Sheikh also mentioned that the fight would be critical for both fighters. If Anthony Joshua “destroys” Paul, the Saudi chief says he’s fine with that outcome. But if the British boxer loses, Al-Sheikh believes it could mark the end of Joshua’s career—and the rise of Jake Paul as a true elite boxer.
