AJ Dybantsa hasn’t played a single minute of college basketball. However, he’s already predicted to be the next big thing, not to mention the reason why everybody will be tuning in to watch BYU.

He’s excelled at youth levels for Team USA, and he was one of the players selected to attend their U19 camp, so he’s been on multiple teams’ radars for years now.

That’s why, knowing that it won’t be long before he takes his talents to the NBA, BYU coach Kevin Young has him watching film and studying three NBA All-Stars ahead of his freshman season.

“Obviously, (Young) coached KD (Kevin Durant)… So, when I’m off the ball, a lot of KD,” Dybantsa said after Team USA practice. “But there’s a lot of Shai (Gilgeous-Alexander). A lot of Luka (Doncic), guys that play multiple positions.”

Dybatnsa is 6-foot-9 and still growing, so the fact that he’s studying two primary ball-handlers should be a scary thought for the NBA. He can be a truly positionless player.

Some believe that he could’ve given Cooper Flagg a run for his money as the first-overall pick in this year’s draft, and it will be interesting to watch his growth and development before turning pro.
