The South Carolina Gamecocks will have to hit the drawing board again. They failed to compete in the most crucial game of the college basketball season, and they were left empty-handed.
With that in mind, legendary head coach Dawn Staley brought some help to Columbia. She hired assistant coach Wendale Farrow to replace Wiston Gandy, who left to become a head coach of his own.
And while itās still way too early and the team has yet to take the court, it seems like coach Staley has been more than satisfied with the early returns of this new partnership.
Dawn Staley is happy with her new assistant coach
ā(Farrow) has been great,ā Staley said. āWe wanted a prototype of Winston and weāve come really close as far as expertise, as far as work ethic.ā

The 37-year-old head coach arrives in South Carolina after spending the past four years as an assistant coach at Southern California, and Coach Staley loves his approach to the players:
ā(Farrowās) probably a little different in that heās a little more outgoing, like heās expressive,ā Staley said. āThereās no fat to Winston. Heās just really lean with everything that he does. (Farrow) is a lot more energetic, a lot more outgoing and really can connect with our players ā in a different way.ā
