It goes without saying that Trevor Bauer is one of the biggest characters in Major League Baseball right now. He’s a pure entertainer who loves to give the fans what they want, and it surely hasn’t disappointed during the offseason, as he’s kept his supporters – kind of – up to date with his free-agency process. Then again, no one seems to know for a fact where he’s actually going to play this year after his career-best campaign in the shortened season. Hopefully, that will change pretty soon.

Coming off winning the National League Cy Young award, Bauer has been one of the most sought-after players in the past couple of months. Then again, it became pretty clear that he wasn’t going to be easily convinced.

Now, however, it seems like he’s finally narrowed down his decision to two candidates: The New York Mets and Los Angeles Dodgers, according to a recent report by MLB.com’s Mark Feinsand.

New York Mets & Los Angeles Dodgers Lead The Race For Trevor Bauer

“The Mets continue to be engaged with Trevor Bauer, while the Dodgers are also still in the mix, per sources. With camps set to open in two weeks, a resolution could come soon. Barring the entrance of a mystery team, these appear to be the finalists,” Feinsand reported.

John Heyman of MLB.com added that, as of now, it seems like the New York Mets have the lead in the race but that the Los Angeles Dodgers are still trying to put together a late push to bring him to the West Coast.

And, while there hasn’t been a public discussion of the deal Bauer is looking to sign, the word around the league is that he could be making north of $30 million over 3 or 4 years, which is unsurprising given his talent and impact on the mound.
