At 37, Carmelo Anthony will have a new shot at one of the greatest teams in the NBA. Three years ago, the outlook was much more complicated for him as his future in the league was up in the air. He bounced back, though, and now will join a ring contending Los Angeles Lakers, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

The veteran forward has revitalized his career by embracing a secondary role with the Portland Trail Blazers in 2019 after spending one year off the court and now he is having an even greater chance by joining forces with LeBron James.

The 2021/22 season will probably be a special one for Melo belonging to a championship-caliber team after so many years of enduring tough circumstances since leaving the New York Knicks.

Melo has written history in the league and his talent is undeniable. A ten-time NBA All-Star and a six-time All-NBA Team member, he has also become one of the greatest players in the Denver Nuggets' history, and was close to leading them to the title.

Unfortunately, he came up short in that quest and has failed to succeed in his next attempts. Carmelo Anthony has not won an NBA ring so far, being the 2009 Conference Finals the closest he ever got to doing so.

Many years later, Melo will face a huge challenge with the Los Angeles Lakers in what could be a massive opportunity to finally add the ultimate accolade to his amazing career
