NFL News: Aaron Rodgers has reportedly put Mike Tomlin and Steelers in huge trouble ahead of 2025 draft

Aaron Rodgers is keeping the Pittsburgh Steelers on edge, just days before one of the most important drafts in recent memory. Despite showing interest in joining the team, his silence has left Mike Tomlin and the front office scrambling for answers.

Aaron Rodgers has officially led the Pittsburgh Steelers into a very dangerous limbo just days before the upcoming draft. According to a report by Dianna Russini, despite the quarterback’s visit to the city and the training session with DK Metcalf, the team has no idea what will happen with the veteran.

“I spoke to Pittsburgh this morning. There are no updates. Think about this. No updates right now. At this point, as we’re a week out from the draft, they still have no idea whether or not Aaron Rodgers is going to sign with them. The Steelers want him, but I just think Aaron knows he’s got the leverage in the situation here. And he may just sit this thing out and wait if there’s another team.”

In a concerning fact, the Steelers haven’t won the Super Bowl in over 16 years and are far from being championship contenders. Because of that, Rodgers seemed like the ideal name to compete next season.

Is Aaron Rodgers a free agent?

Yes. Aaron Rodgers is a free agent and, as we’ve mentioned in recent weeks, this is the key factor why the quarterback feels no pressure at all to make his final decision.

Although Rodgers seems to have control of the situation with the Steelers, there could still be a plot twist. If the Steelers grow tired of Rodgers, Mike Tomlin feels comfortable with Mason Rudolph as the starter, and they could also draft a quarterback in the early rounds with the future in mind. That scenario would leave Aaron on the verge of retirement.
