NFL News: Tua Tagovailoa’s key weapon Tyreek Hill misses practice amid Dolphins’ preseason shenanigans

Tyreek Hill has made waves lately within the Miami Dolphins facilities. As the team prepares to open their NFL preseason games, Tua Tagovailoa and company didn't see him in practice.

The Miami Dolphins are dealing with one of the most complicated personalities in the NFL in wide receiver Tyreek Hill. After he’s made comments about the team’s running backs, his desire to be on the roster and more, Tua Tagovailoa and company trained without the wideout on Wednesday.

Tyreek Hill was also late for team stretch on Sunday and missed today’s practice with an undisclosed injury. However, that’s the least of the problems Hill’s has had with the Dolphins lately. Even Tagovailoa spoke about how Hill’s comments somewhat deteriorated their relationship.

In what seems like an effort to make a truce with his quarterback, Hill was seen getting on the team’s plane wearing a Tua jersey. This means two things, not only is he trying to get back on the signal-caller’s good graces, but also that he is traveling with the team to Chicago ahead of the preseason debut.

Tua wants to people to be commited to the team

After Hill’s comments about not wanting to be on the team, Tagovailoa stated that he needed to be held accountable, and Hill actually accepted that. Tua has been clear that players need to be happy while repping the Fins’ shirt. Commitment is key.

Tua played 11 games last season and he had a 6-5 record. He led the NFL on completion percentage with a 72.9% of efficacy. Tua threw for 2,867 yards and 19 touchdowns to seven interceptions. He, once again, suffered from concussion issues which put his health in jeopardy. Tua still was able to deliver when available.

The Dolphins don’t have the best culture

With Hill’s remarks, this aggravates the early offseason rumors that stated the team’s culture isn’t exactly great. Defensive end Bradley Chubb made his voice known about it a couple of months ago. Hill engaged in plenty of offseason shenanigans that had reminisced about the culture.

This is one of the reasons that has made Mike McDaniel a coach under the scope. Being the head coach means you need to coach the team, but also instill a culture where all the players will follow the alignments, not go talking freely to the press. It’s a distracting look.
