The Denver Broncos are trying to cement themselves as one of the best teams in the NFL. Just a couple of years ago, they were seen as a circus, but since Sean Payton arrived as head coach, the culture change has been such that now the team is looking very good. Aside from that, they found a proper NFL quarterback in Bo Nix.Now, the team just made sure one of their best defensive players is staying for the foreseeable future.

According to multiple reports, including one from Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Broncos have agreed terms on a four-year, $102 million contract extension with defensive linemen Zach Allen. The new deal also state that $69 million are guaranteed.

Allen was a standout last year. He racked up 8.5 sacks and 40 QB Hits en route to an All-Pro second team selection. He was a disruptive force who constantly threatened the opposing quarterback.

There is massive value for both sides in this contract

Both sides should be glad this deal got done. For one, Allen has proven to be an excellent player who can line up as both defensive end or defensive tackle. The team just secured a top-tier, versatile talent for all of his prime at a value that is way below recent contracts signed by defensive studs.

For Allen, he is not a blockbuster name like a T.J. Watt or Myles Garrett, but he has a $100 million contract. This makes him the third-best paid defensive tackle in the NFL below Chiefs’ Chris Jones and Patriots’ Milton Williams.
