Tom Brady may no longer be with the New England Patriots—or an active NFL player—but he still keeps close ties with former teammates and teams. That connection was on full display during David Andrews’ retirement press conference, where Brady shared a heartfelt message for the longtime Patriots center.
Appearing in a tribute video alongside other former players, Brady, who won two Super Bowls with Andrews, told him: “You couldn’t have had a better career. You were not only a great teammate, but a world champion.” Brady and Andrews won Super Bowls together in the 2016 and 2018 seasons.
Brady went on to reflect on their time together in New England, saying, “I loved every minute with you. I loved being your quarterback.” He also offered his support moving forward, adding, “I’m with you every step of the way.”
How many seasons did Andrews play with Brady?
David Andrews joined the Patriots in 2015 and was Brady’s center until the quarterback left New England after the 2019 season. Andrews missed the entire 2019 campaign due to injury, meaning they didn’t share one final season on the field.
Their most memorable moments came in the playoffs. Andrews played in four postseasons with Brady and started 9 out of 11 playoff games, becoming a trusted presence on the offensive line for the most decorated quarterback in NFL history.

During his press conference, Andrews expressed his appreciation for his former teammates, saying, “I hope each and every one of you know when I stepped on the field, I gave everything I had.” He didn’t specifically mention Brady by name.
As for head coach Bill Belichick and team owner Robert Kraft, Andrews opened his remarks by thanking both men. According to Kevin Stone’s reporting, Andrews added: “The details were important and they mattered. That’s something I’ll take with me for the rest of my life.”

The Patriots have not announced a new starting center yet. As of now, Garret Bradbury and Ben Brown are the primary options on the roster heading into the 2025 season. A decision will be made once the team finalizes its official roster.
