Tom Brady is not coming out of retirement, even though the former quarterback said in an interview with Colin Cowherd that he could still play in the NFL at 48. That statement sparked a lot of controversy on social media, which caused an old tweet by insider Jeff Darlington to resurface clarifying the situation.


 

 


Darlington’s message was published when Brady officially became a minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders in 2023. That move is what prevents the legend from returning to the NFL with the Raiders or any other team.



“This should also put to rest any of the final few holdouts still wondering if Tom will come back out of retirement. NFL rules require a vote of all 32 teams to allow anyone to play while holding a financial interest in a club. So we can all move on now. Right?”

In a crazier outcome, if New England were to lose to the Bills, if the Colts and Texans both lost, they would clinch their first berth into the tournament since 2021,” Hurwitz explained.



Of course, Coach Vrabel won’t be satisfied with just making the playoffs, even if the Patriots win. There’s plenty of football to be played, and they can’t afford to get complacent now.

New York is completely eliminated from any playoffs chances. The team also fired its head coach. Hence, it all depends on trying to establish the bases for next year as the team rebuilds.

“He’s able to keep his composure, keep his eyes downfield,” Vrabel said. “I thought some of the best plays were just the extensions, the scramble for a first down. To scramble and stay in bounds there late in the game, knowing the situation forces them to call a timeout. And then not throwing an incompletion there at the end of the game. Unselfishly, probably could have said, ‘Hey, I’m gonna try to throw a touchdown.’ And just go and slide and use the clock. Those are the things that probably don’t show up on the stat sheet. Being accurate downfield and being able to give Kayshon (Boutte) a real catchable ball in the end zone was nice, too.”
