JT Miller battled against the Vancouver Canucks in a hard-fought game where the New York Rangers initially took the lead, only to lose it later. It was also a special game for one of Miller’s teammates, who recorded his first NHL point.

In the Rangers’ 5-3 victory over the Canucks, one of Miller’s newer teammates contributed a key assist to tie the game and lead to Adam Fox’s goal in the second period. That teammate was Brennan Othmann, who is now in his second season with the Rangers.

After the game, Othmann admitted feeling a sense of relief after notching his first NHL point, saying, “I think it just takes a weight off my shoulders a little bit. Not that I needed it at the time. It just kind of feels good, knowing that you can contribute at this level a little bit. Especially in a game like that, every game from here on is a playoff game,” remarked the 22-year-old.

Othmann also commented on Jonny Brodzinski’s game-winning goal, sharing his thoughts in remarks collected by Lou Orlando: “It’s great. He was down with us in Hartford at the start of the year, and now he’s getting an opportunity to play on the first line. He’s a very complimentary player…and he’s gonna keep doing well going forward.”

JT Miller Reflects on the Challenges of the Game

JT Miller spoke candidly after the Rangers’ victory, emphasizing the difficulty of the match. “It was kind of a mixed bag. They probably outplayed us for most of the game today, but we stuck with it. I thought our best period was in the third period,” Miller said, referring to the four goals scored by the Rangers during that period to secure the win.

Miller also issued a warning to his teammates, pointing out the dangers of conceding too many goals: You definitely don’t want to give up that many after you give up the lead, what, three times? We’ll take the points this time of year though.”
