Uruguay is getting ready with the best players they have available for the 2021 Copa America in Brazil. Óscar Tabárez called in 26 players, mostly from Europe, to try and win the nation’s sixteenth championship.
Among the standout names on the roster is Luis Suárez and Edinson Cavani, two of the best Uruguayan soccer players ever. Youth sensation Facundo Torres will be a player to watch as he was recently valued at $20 million by his club Peñarol.
Uruguay will be in a group consisting of Argentina, Chile, Paraguay, and Bolivia in Group A. La Celeste is due to kick-off the tournament on June 18th against archrivals Argentina in their opening game of group play.

After an up and down World Cup Qualifying campaign, which has Uruguay 4th and in qualification positions, the Copa America will be an opportunity for the talented Uruguayan side to find their footing.
Óscar Tabárez has once again began to introduce new faces like Nacional standouts Brian Ocampo and Camilo Cándido. Notable absences from the tournament are LAFC’s Diego Rossi who looked to have broken into the squad last year but was not selected. Getafe midfielder Mauro Arambarri was also left off the final team.
