A long time ago, over 27 years to be exact, Alexi Lalas became the first USMNT player to play in Serie A when he suited up for Padova. In 2011 it was Michael Bradley’s turn to play in the prestigious Italian league suiting up for Chievo and Roma. Defender Oguchi Onyewu was on AC Milan’s books for a few years but never made a league appearance.
Now things have changed, and Italian teams are looking towards the United States for fresh talent, and that can be due to just how much Weston McKennie has been a success for Juventus. This season American fans can watch Serie A on CBS Sports and three clubs will be home to 4 American players.
Who are those players? Below is the list of USMNT stars that will play in one of the most difficult and exciting leagues in the world, the Italian Serie A.
