Argentina, Brazil, Colombia and Uruguay all won their opening round matches to lead the South American FIFA World Cup 2022 Qualifiers standings. However, the first round of the competiton gave us more than just highlights and goals. We also have funny memes and reactions!
Brazil played the last game of the first round and clinched an outstandings 5-0 home victory over Bolivia. Meanwhile, Colombia also took a great win on Friday by beating Venezuela 3-0 in Barranquilla.
On Thursday, Uruguay needed a last-minute goal scored by Maxi Gómez to defeat Chile 2-1 in a controversial game, while Lionel Messi gave Argentina a 1-0 win over Ecuador with a penalty in a boring game played at La Bombonera. In the other match, Paraguay and Peru drew 2-2 in the most entertaining game of the first round.
