LA Galaxy defeated Real Salt Lake 2-1 on Sunday to return to victory. It was the team’s first game after coach Guillermo Barros Schelotto was fired. Meanwhile, Portland Timbers clinched a 1-0 win over Vancouver Whitecaps to take the lead of the Western Conference.
In the Eastern Conference, Toronto FC climbed to the top of the standings after beating Inter Miami 2-1. The Canadian side now share the lead of the table with Philadelphia Union, who lost 2-1 to Columbus Crew.
