Real Madrid continued their strong run at the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 with a 1–0 victory over Juventus, thanks to a second-half header from Gonzalo Garcia. With the win, the Spanish side secured a spot in the quarterfinals, where they will face the winner of tonight’s Borussia Dortmund vs. Monterrey matchup.
Juventus started the match on the front foot and nearly opened the scoring in the 7th minute when Randal Kolo Muani broke through. However, his chip attempt sailed just over the bar after he tried to beat Thibaut Courtois one-on-one.
After that early scare, Real Madrid controlled possession for much of the first half but struggled to create clear scoring opportunities. In the second half, Madrid came out with more urgency and looked determined to break the deadlock.
The breakthrough came in the 54th minute when Garcia rose to meet a pinpoint cross from Trent Alexander–Arnold and headed home past Michele Di Gregorio. The Juventus goalkeeper had made several key saves earlier in the match but could do nothing to stop the decisive effort. Juventus were unable to recover after conceding and failed to mount a serious attacking threat in the final half-hour.
With the win, Real Madrid move into the final eight of the expanded 32-team tournament, keeping their title hopes alive. Their next opponent will be determined following the last Round of 16 match between Borussia Dortmund and Monterrey.
