With most of the Euro 2020 already in the history books, we can all agree that Roberto Mancini’s Italy has been a treat to watch. Unsurprisingly, a lot of credit should go to Napoli star Lorenzo Insigne.
Insigne has flown under the radar for quite some time now but he’s been one of the best players in Serie A for years. Now, his good recent performances may grant him the recognition he’s been due.
According to recent reports, several big clubs – including Barcelona and Tottenham – are keeping tabs on the Italian playmaker, as he only has one year left in his contract and could force his way out of the club.
Transfer Rumors: Barcelona, Tottenham Interested In Napoli’s Lorenzo Insigne
“Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis faces a battle to keep hold of Euro 2020 star Lorenzo Insigne, with Barcelona and Tottenham circling as a contract stand-off looms.Insigne has been a key cog in Roberto Mancini’s Azzurri machine this summer, scoring the crucial goal against Belgium to setup a semi-final spot for Italy,” Reported the Daily Mail.
“The Napoli skipper has spent his entire career with the iconic club, but with only a year left on his deal, the winger reportedly desires an improvement on his £4.3m-a-year deal in exchange for his long-term future,” concluded the report.

With Nuno Espirito Santo taking the reins of the Spurs, we can expect Tottenham to be more of an offensive-minded team next season. Also, Gareth Bale will head back to Real Madrid and Harry Kane is expected to play somewhere else.
Insigne’s mobility, ability to play on both flanks or right behind the striker, and long-range shooting skills make him a tailor-made player for the English Premier League and Nuno’s system.

As for Barcelona, it’s not a secret that most players dream of wearing the Blaugrana shirt and don’t hesitate when they or Real Madrid express their interest in them, so it wouldn’t be shocking to see Insigne lured away to Camp Nou.
Even though the Catalans are already stacked upfront – especially after the addition of Memphis Depay – Insigne would be a massive boost for their offense and a perfect complement next to Lionel Messi.
