Arsenal managed to sign Thomas Partey during the Transfer Window Deadline Day. The Ghana internationalis expected to strengthen thePremier League sideโs midfield and add more depth to the roster.
The midfielderhas already chosen to wear the No.18 jersey, but it will say โThomasโ, not โParteyโ on the back of his shirt. The journalists were interested in why Partey decided to make such a decision, i.e. not to wear his surname.
โIโve seen that there are Parteys everywhere and even the photographer asked me why I donโt use Partey on my shirt. I said itโs because I started with Thomas and people are familiar with Thomas, so I need to go with Thomas,โhe said in his first interview for Arsenalโs official website.
What Thomas thinks of Arsenal move
โI think it was a new challenge for me. Iโve always wanted to play in the top leagues and the Premier League is one of the top leagues, so Iโm happy to be here,โ he said when talking about his move to the Gunners. โI think itโs a great challenge, I want to experience new challenges and also in a great family like Arsenal, I am ready to give it my all and try to help this great club come back to where they belong.โ
