Yankees manager Aaron Boone, who knows Aaron Judge well, believes he’s the ideal player to represent Team USA as captain in a major tournament like the World Baseball Classic. Boone offered his strong endorsement, explaining why Judge is a perfect fit for the role.
“I think it’s the perfect face to be the captain of Team USA,” Boone began. He elaborated on Judge’s suitability, stating, “Is Aaron Judge… in a lot of ways, certainly, one of the faces of baseball. Such a magnetic personality that people gravitate to, people around the game love and respect and I think he would be great.“
This upcoming WBC will mark Aaron Judge‘s debut with Team USA. While he expressed his readiness for the opportunity, he’s also mindful of the long Yankees season ahead, with the team aiming for a deep playoff run. Boone will undoubtedly need a fully prepared Judge for that endeavor.
