James Harden already showed up to training camp with the Houston Rockets but whether he’ll finish the season with the team is yet to be seen. As of now, it seems like there’s no way to fix his relationship with the front office and that he’s bound to get away as soon as possible.

Harden reportedly wanted to team up with Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving in the Brooklyn Nets but has now added the Philadelphia 76ers, Milwaukee Bucks, and even Miami Heat as ‘preferred destinations’.

It’s pretty clear that Harden is eager to get out of Houston and would welcome a move to virtually any contending team, and according to a report byBarry Jackson of The Miami Herald, the Heat’s interest would be mutual.

Miami Heat And James Harden Have ‘Mutual Interest’

“Harden has requested a trade and has included the Heat – along with Brooklyn and Philadelphia – as teams that would appeal to him, as Five Reasons Sports Network and subsequently The Athletic reported. The Heat would have interest in Harden if the Rockets decide to trade him, according to the source. At this point, Houston has displayed no particular interest in granting his trade request,” read the report.

Tyler Herro ‘Not Untouchable’ In James Harden Trade

And contrary to what was said at the beginning of the offseason, Miami’s highly-coveted youngster Tyler Herro would be on the table if that meant getting James Harden to South Beach:

“But the source disputed any suggestion that Heat guard Tyler Herro would be untouchable in such a deal. Though the Heat loves Herro, the source advised against any conclusion that he wouldn’t be made available in a Harden deal if serious talks eventually happen. He would be in play,” Jackson said.

The Heat are pretty high on Herro and view him as a centerpiece of their project going forward. Then again, they won’t pass on the chance to add Harden next to Jimmy Butler, especially after coming off making the NBA Finals last season.
