Aaron Rodgers is not waiting for the Minnesota Vikings, because Kevin O’Connell’s team has already made it very clear to him that J.J. McCarthy is their priority for the future. A new report from Ian Rapoport confirms that expecting for this option would be a serious mistake for the veteran.

“I don’t believe Aaron Rodgers is waiting for the Minnesota Vikings right now. He’s had enough conversations with the Vikings and with his good buddy Kevin O’Connell to know that the Vikings are looking at J.J. McCarthy as their starting quarterback.”

Even though Rodgers knows that his best chance of winning the Super Bowl is with Minnesota, the reality is that if he wants to stay active, the only realistic path is with the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Vikings are not in his horizon.

Is Aaron Rodgers retiring from football?

Aaron Rodgers would have to retire from football if he doesn’t take his precautions in time. Ian Rapoport is clear in stating that the Vikings will not sign him, and as a result, his only option to continue playing is with Pittsburgh.

“And if, somehow or someway, something terrible would happen, but this is not the case, it’s not going to come now (with Vikings and McCarthy). Any sort of realization would probably come more in training camp. I don’t expect Rodgers to wait that long. The Minnesota Vikings were a place that Aaron Rodgers wanted to go. Probably would have taken less money to get there. It’s just, by now, he’s got to know that’s not happening.”
