Ben Roethlisberger believes that Aaron Rodgers will eventually sign with the Pittsburgh Steelers, but in his Footbahlin podcast, the team’s legend assured that head coach Mike Tomlin and general manager Omar Khan will likely draft a quarterback in the third round.

“I think they’ll draft someone in the third round. I do. A quarterback. I don’t think they’ll do it in the first round. I think Will Howard from Ohio State could be there (third round). I think the kid from Lousville who the Steelers really like him (Tyler Shough). I think that they kind of like Jaxson Dart, but I don’t think he’ll be there in the third round.”

In their quest to win the Super Bowl, the Steelers have emphasized that they will look for a quarterback in this year’s or next year’s draft, but the 2025 class is not very deep. However, desperation could lead them to try again, just as they did with Kenny Pickett.

Will the Steelers draft a quarterback?

The Steelers are expected to draft a quarterback according to multiple reports, but the big question is when it will happen. In the first round, their ideal choice would be Jaxson Dart or, in a very unlikely scenario, Shedeur Sanders if he falls to the 21st pick.

Another prospect that has been heavily mentioned in rumors for Pittsburgh and Mike Tomlin is Jalen Milroe from Alabama. He could still be available in the third round.
