The Pittsburgh Steelers had a Top 30 visit with Jaxson Dart, the top prospect from Ole Miss. While Mike Tomlin’s team continues to wait on Aaron Rodgers, the plan to draft a quarterback for the long term is underway.

According to Ian Rapoport, Dart is a real possibility for the Steelers at the No. 21 spot. “His Pro Day went exceptionally well. Definitely in the converstaion to be the number three quarterback taken. First round is very much a possibility for Jaxson Dart. The Steelers’ one is interesting. He is very talented. If he goes to a team that may or may not soon have Aaron Rodgers that isn’t a long term answer. They would love a long term answer at quarterback and Jaxson Dart would make sense to me.”

Although the Steelers want to sign Rodgers, general manager Omar Khan is trying to find the franchise quarterback who can make the Steelers a Super Bowl contender in the next decade.

Who will be Steelers starting quarterback?

Mason Rudolph is currently the starting quarterback for the Steelers, and unless Aaron Rodgers signs soon, that won’t change heading into the start of training camp in Pittsburgh.

However, in the long term, Jaxson Dart could be a solution after his solid career at Ole Miss. The big concern is that, not long ago, the Steelers already failed with a first-round pick when they believed in Kenny Pickett.
