The CONMEBOL World Cup Qualifiers resume today for Matchday 16 with several key matches, as some teams could seal their qualification. Ecuador, Paraguay, and Brazil have the chance to secure their tickets to the tournament tonight, depending on certain results.

With Argentina already qualified, there are five direct spots and one playoff spot left. Ecuador and Paraguay are second with 24 points each, followed by Brazil with 22 units. Uruguay and Colombia have 21 points each.

Meanwhile, Venezuela are currently in seventh place, which would qualify them for the play-offs, with 18 points. The match between Venezuela and Uruguay determines some of the scenarios for today. Here’s a breakdown of the potential results.

What do Ecuador and Paraguay need to qualify for the 2026 World Cup tonight?

Ecuador, who play against Peru, and Paraguay, who play against Brazil, qualify if they achieve a better result than Venezuela. If Venezuela lose, a draw is enough for them; if Venezuela draw, they must win.

What do Brazil need to qualify for the 2026 World Cup tonight?

With two other matches left, Brazil could seal their ticket to the World Cup if they defeat Paraguay and Venezuela lose. Carlo Ancelotti’s men are coming from a goalless draw against Ecuador, but at home, they have the pressure to add the three points.

Which teams can be eliminated on Matchday 16 of the World Cup Qualifiers?

Bolivia, Peru and Chile could say goodbye to their World Cup hopes tonight. Bolivia (14 points) are eliminated if they lose to Chile (10 points) and Venezuela win. Meanwhile, Peru (11 points) and Chile will be eliminated if they do not win their matches or if Venezuela win.
