The start of the Gold Cup 2021 is a few days away. The national team of Panama is already in the United States, getting ready for their debut against Qatar at the BBVA Stadium in Houston. La Marea Roja is expecting to have a deep run in the tournament.

It will be their ninth consecutive appearance, and their 10th overall, in the tournament. Head Coach Thomas Christiansen, who has been in charge of the team since last year, already helped the team qualify into the Final Round of Concacaf World Cup Qualifying.

With a group of players that combine experience and youth, Panama is looking to finally lift the trophy, after getting into two finals. They lost both against the United States. But first, they will try to get into the knockout stage, as they have done every edition they participated in.
