The US female soccerside took part in the2020 CONCACAF Women’s Olympic Qualifying Championship and they ended up becoming theChampions with five wins out of five games. Additionally, they played only oneinternational friendly last year. They faced the Netherlands on November 27,and theycomfortably beat them 2-0.

The US women’s national soccerteam have facedColombia’swomen’s national football team in an international friendly at the Exploria Stadium in Orlando. Manchester City starSamantha Mewisscored all four goals.

USWNT 6-0Colombia – January 22

Colombia have stayed in the United States for a while longer as thetwo sides clash offed again four days later at7:00 PM (ET), attheExploria Stadium in Orlando. The US won the gamethanks to goals by Catarina Macario,Lynn Williams, Lindsey Horan, Margaret Purce, and a brace by Megan Rapinoe.

TheUSWNT at the SheBelieves Cup

The US participated in thesixth annualSheBelieves Cup,a four-team tournament held in Orlando. Check out their fixtures that led to their fourthSheBelieves Cup trophy.

USWNT 1-0 Canada- February18

Andonovski’s team opened the tournament against neighbors CanadaattheExploria Stadium in Orlando. They didn’t use much of their power, so Rose Lavelle’s strike proved to be the winning goal of the clash.

USWNT 2-0Brazil – February 21

Next up, they faced Brazilthree days later, againattheExploria Stadium in Orlando. This time, the game ended in a 2-0 win of the US girls, thanks to goals by Christen Press and Megan Rapinoe.

USWNT 6-0Argentina – February 24

The USWNT then came against Argentina in the final SheBelieves Cup game. hey were originally supposed to play against Japan, but it was Argentina who tooktheir place, and little did Argentina know what they would be facing. The South American side suffered a difficult 6-0 defeat, as Megan Rapinoe netted a brace, with Carli Lloyd, Kristie Mewis, Alex Morgan, andChristen Press adding one each. Thus, the US won theSheBelieves Cup for the second consecutive time, fourth in total.

The USWNT at the2021Summer Olympics

The2020Summer Olympics may have kept their original name, but they have been postponed for July 21toAugust 6, 2021, as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. Originally, they wereto be held from July 22 to August 7, 2020. The US women’s national team will face Sweden on July 21 in the opening round. Next up, they will come against New Zealand on July 24, before facing Australia on July 27.
