Shedeur Sanders is poised to be one of the top prospects in the upcoming NFL Draft. The talent of the Colorado Buffaloes quarterback has been influenced by one particular player, and it was the QB himself who recently revealed it. The twist? It’s neither Patrick Mahomes nor Josh Allen.

Sanders, one of the players expected to be selected among the top ten picks of the draft, spoke with the media and revealed which player he tries to emulate to develop his game in the best possible way.

When it came to choosing a role model, he didn’t hesitate to select the multiple-time Super Bowl champion with the New England Patriots, Tom Brady.

“I’m able to see what he has done and mentally how he was able to beat people with his mind,” Sanders said during an interview with ProFootballTalk at the NFL scouting combine.

“That’s why he was able to play to the year he was able to play. I see what he was doing, adding this, this and this to his game and that’s why I know I’m not at my best product yet. I’m nowhere near where I need to be and where I want to be and where I desire to be because there are certain things going into the offseason that you have to work on, grow at and indulge in. One step at a time.”

Brady over Mahomes and Allen

Both Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen belong to a new generation of players who are destined to succeed legends like Brady and Aaron Rodgers, among others. Their physical talent is matched by their winning mentality. However, Sanders chose to look up to the experience of the former Patriots quarterback.

Where will Shedeur Sanders be picked?

Sanders’ connection with Tom Brady’s Raiders grew stronger with each passing day, making his potential arrival in Las Vegas seem almost certain. The issue is that Pete Carroll’s team now holds the 6th overall pick in the draft, and the Colorado Buffaloes QB isn’t planning on falling that low.

“That’s [explicit], bruh. I ain’t going sixth,” he said at the NFL Combine when asked if he would go to the Raiders.
