The Los Angeles Dodgers continue to build momentum in the 2025 MLB season, much to the delight of their fans. Riding a strong 16-7 record, manager Dave Roberts has reason to feel confident as the results speak for themselves. Still, beyond the win column, there are other factors worth monitoring, particularly the roster and the injury status of one of Shohei Ohtani’s teammates.
While Ohtani’s return to the lineup is a major boost, the Dodgers face challenges on the health front. Blake Snell remains on the injured list due to a shoulder issue and was officially placed on the 15-day IL.
Ahead of their matchup against the Rangers, Roberts told reporters that reliever Blake Treinen has also been placed on the 15-day IL. As a result, Treinen was unavailable for Sunday’s game against Texas.
Roberts provided injury update on Blake Treinen
Though Blake Treinen wasn’t on the roster for the Dodgers’ game against the Rangers, manager Dave Roberts addressed the reliever’s status after the team received the results of recent medical tests. Unfortunately for Los Angeles, the update wasn’t encouraging.

Shohei Ohtani of the Los Angeles Dodgers attends the game between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Portland Trail Blazers at Crypto.com Arena on December 08, 2024 in Los Angeles, California.
“An exam on Blake Treinen yesterday revealed a low-grade forearm sprain. He’s heading back to L.A. for further evaluation. There’s no timeline for his return,” Roberts told reporters ahead of the matchup against Texas.

Even without Treinen, the Dodgers had no trouble closing out the series with a win over the Rangers. While it’s unclear how long the veteran right-hander will be sidelined, Los Angeles will continue to lean on Shohei Ohtani and the rest of the roster to maintain their strong form during the MLB regular season.
Another one of Ohtani’s teammates left the game against Rangers
During Sunday’s matchup against the Rangers, the Dodgers announced via social media that yet another one of Ohtani’s teammates was forced to leave the game. While the team shared footage of the incident, they have yet to determine if the player will be sidelined.
“Tyler Glasnow left today’s game with lower leg cramps,” the Dodgers posted on their official X account. The team added that they will provide further updates if additional tests reveal anything beyond the initial diagnosis.
