The New York Knicks faced the Detroit Pistons in Game 4 of their 2024-25 NBA Playoffs first-round series, a matchup that, like much of the series so far, was defined by physical play and plenty of controversy. This game was no exception. A highly disputed final play ultimately decided the outcome, triggering a wave of reactions from fans.

The Knicks secured a narrow 94–93 victory, highlighted by the return of a stellar Jalen Brunson. Brunson delivered an outstanding performance, earning NBA Player of the Game honors and sinking the crucial basket that gave New York the lead in the final moments.

The controversy erupted during the Pistons’ final possession, as they sought either a foul call or a last-second basket to tie or win the game. Cade Cunningham missed a mid-range shot, but Detroit grabbed the offensive rebound and quickly found Tim Hardaway Jr. for a follow-up attempt. As Hardaway went up for the shot, there appeared to be clear contact — but no foul was called. Time expired, and chaos ensued.
