Golden State Warriors’ offseason plans reportedly revealed ahead of crucial summer moves

After falling short of their season goals, the Golden State Warriors are already planning for the 2025-26 NBA campaign. Even, they have reportedly outlined key areas of the roster to reinforce in the offseason.

The Golden State Warriors did not meet expectations this season. Their elimination at the hands of the Minnesota Timberwolves reflected the inconsistencies and injuries that plagued them throughout the year. Because of that, Steve Kerr is already working with the front office to plan the offseason. Their goal is to reinforce the squad in three key areas and avoid repeating the same mistakes.

“The Warriors will be incredibly aggressive in the marketplace to go find help, to continue to retool around their big 3 of Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, and Jimmy Butler… I am told, their priority is finding a playmaking, wing defender or a center to this group. A lot of it will come down to [who] Steve Kerr and the Big 3 feel like will help this team and fit their culture and their identity,” reported Shams Charania on ESPN.

The playoffs exposed a hard truth about the Warriors: their bench lacks the depth to compete with teams like the Denver Nuggets, Oklahoma City Thunder, and even the Minnesota Timberwolves. Those teams relied on second-unit players who consistently changed the course of games and delivered valuable scoring. In contrast, Steve Kerr’s bench offered little support, with only Jonathan Kuminga making a noticeable impact off the bench.

Despite criticism of the Warriors’ aging core, Draymond Green, Jimmy Butler, and Stephen Curry still made an impact in games. However, many NBA experts believe the heavy workload affected their performance. They point to fatigue, not talent, as the main issue. Therefore, keeping the team’s Big Three together while reinforcing the roster brings good news for fans.

Will Steve Kerr remain with the Golden State Warriors after a disappointing season?

The Golden State Warriors reached the conference semifinals, but ultimately fell short of their season goal. Along the way, head coach Steve Kerr faced growing criticism from fans. Many questioned his limited use of the bench and pointed to what they saw as a lack of evolution in his game plan. As a result, many began to doubt his long-term future with the team and raised questions about his continuity.

In response, Kerr addressed his future and reiterated the philosophy he has adopted in recent years: “At this point, I’m year to year…I love my job. It’s so much fun. … I loved every second of this year. I love my job. But I know where the team is, I know where the organization is. So I’m perfectly comfortable just going year by year at this point,” affirmed Steve Kerr.
