It’s not a secret that Kevin Durant is one of the greatest players in NBA history. He’s the best pure scorer in the league and he proved it yet again by nearly leading the Brooklyn Nets to the NBA Finals.

Durant’s combination of size, shooting, and skill are unprecedented. He’s the most unique scorer to ever live, as he has the bag of a shooting guard and the size and length of a big man. He’s the ultimate cheat code.

That’s why even the best defenders in the world have a tough time going against him, especially in the playoffs. If you don’t take our word for it, just ask Milwaukee Bucks star Jrue Holiday.

Jrue Holiday Says Kevin Durant ‘Mentally Penetrated Him’In The Playoffs

Holiday made an appearance in JJ Redick’s podcast ‘The Old Man and The Three to discuss several issues from last season, and he went into detail on just how tough it is to face off vs. Durant:

“Mentally, it was draining. Again mentally it’s draining because I feel like you do everything you can to stop somebody and it’s not working,” Holiday said. “With Kevin Durant, it is pretty much just like, it’s gonna sound weird but it’s ‘Mentally penetrating’ and like he’s not stopping.”

“And physically, I was hurting. I mean everybody was. As a matter of fact, you can see KD in game 7 you knew he was tired, you knew he was gassed, but man both teams left it out there. After that series, I was like man look whatever happens after this… We have to win now. We did to much and came to far, he concluded.

Yeah, that definitely sounds weird and probably didn’t come out the way he intended, but the point is still quite valid. Durant has an unlimited set of tricks and moves and the ability to shoot over everybody on the court, but his mental toughness on the court is also impressive.

Gladly for Holiday and the Bucks, Durant’s foot was on the line on that epic shot that forced overtime. Otherwise, Durant and the Nets would’ve sent them back home empty-handed yet again.
