The Los Angeles Lakers continue to struggle, unable to break free from their losing streak. Following their loss to the Denver Nuggets, they have now suffered four consecutive defeats. This slump has dropped them to 5th place in the Western Conference, putting their direct playoff qualification at risk. However, not everything is negative for the Lakers. Austin Reaves managed to match an impressive record set by the legendary Kobe Bryant, offering a positive note amid their struggles.
Austin Reaves achieved a remarkable milestone with the Los Angeles Lakers. He became only the second player in franchise history to record more than 20 points and 10 assists in a single half. The first to achieve this was the legendary Kobe Bryant. This performance could mark a turning point in Reaves’ NBA career. It further highlights his growing potential as a standout player.
Throughout this NBA season, Austin Reaves has proven to be one of the Lakers’ most promising players. Despite a tough 131-126 loss to the Denver Nuggets, Reaves delivered an impressive performance. He recorded 37 points, 8 rebounds, and 13 assists, along with a team-high 4 steals.
However, his strong effort was not enough to secure a win. JJ Redick continues to struggle in finding the defensive consistency that once made the Lakers clear title contenders.

In addition, the team’s constant absences have made it difficult for JJ Redick to find solutions and turn things around. However, this is where the depth of the roster must come into play. The Lakers will need players like Shake Milton, Christian Koloko, and Markieff Morris to step up. They must prove why they are valuable assets to the franchise.

Reaves’ performance has not gone unnoticed by JJ Redick who was quick to praise his performance this season:“I think Austin has done a great job throughout his career of just like figuring it out. And you don’t always figure it out in a week or a month…He’s been phenomenal this season. We have a lot of confidence in him as a player.”
Besides, Redick even made a confession about the future plans he has for Reaves on the team: “We have a lot of confidence in the duo of him and Luca together…We’ll have a ton of opportunities once we get LeBron back.
