For many fans, Michael Jordan is the undisputed NBA GOAT; for others, it’s LeBron James. However, Jordan’s former agent has now added fuel to the debate with a sharp statement about James’ career.

There’s no doubt the NBA has seen many great players throughout its history. Still, the conversation around the greatest of all time usually boils down to just two names: Michael Jordan and LeBron James.

While Jordan boasts six NBA championships to LeBron’s four, statistics often favor James. Nevertheless, numbers aren’t everything—at least not for Jordan’s former agent, who believes there should be no debate at all.

Michael Jordan or LeBron James? MJ’s former agent reignites the GOAT debate

The GOAT debate in the NBA seems like a never-ending conversation. Many players have had extraordinary careers, yet few compare to what Michael Jordan accomplished and what LeBron James continues to achieve.

Jordan went a perfect 6-0 in the NBA Finals, which is why many regard him as the undisputed GOAT. On the other hand, LeBron has four titles but has lost in the Finals six times.

While Jordan’s championship record is impressive on its own, some analysts believe he could have won even more. One of them is David Falk, Jordan’s former agent, who thinks MJ could’ve ended his career with at least 15 rings.

“I really like LeBron, but I think if Jordan had cherry-picked what teams he wanted to be on and two other superstars, he would’ve won 15 championships,” Falk said, per David Schaefer of Sports Business Journal.

While Falk may have been exaggerating with the 15-title claim, his point is clear. Without discrediting LeBron’s career, the era of free agency allowed his teams to build around him with superstar talent, while Jordan’s path to greatness was arguably more organic.
