NBA rumors: Giannis Antetokounmpo reportedly still has an uncertain future with the Bucks

One of the biggest questions of this NBA offseason revolves around Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo. Despite being largely expected to remain with the franchise, he has yet to make a definitive decision about his long-term future, leaving the rest of the league watching closely.

With EuroBasket moving quickly and Giannis set to return from Europe soon, the Bucks are hoping for clarity as they attempt to convince their franchise cornerstone that he still belongs in Milwaukee.

Giannis has been putting on a show at EuroBasket 2025. In his exhibition debut against Latvia, he scored 25 points, grabbed 10 rebounds, recorded three assists, and blocked two shots while shooting 75% from the field in just 15 minutes. The Greek Freak already looks like a potential MVP candidate for the upcoming NBA season, and the Bucks are doing everything they can to secure his commitment.

“This offseason, the Bucks have been doing everything possible to not only improve their roster from a season ago but also prove to their superstar that they will be aggressive in making moves to better the franchise’s chances of winning another title,” Siegel added.

One of the Bucks’ first moves was to release Damian Lillard, who was coming off an Achilles tendon injury. While Giannis initially expressed frustration over the decision, he has since accepted it, especially after Milwaukee was able to acquire Myles Turner and extend Lillard’s contract cap-wise.

Now, the Milwaukee Bucks enter the 2025-26 season with renewed hope of contending for a championship. However, their chances hinge entirely on Giannis, whose future remains uncertain.

For now, the Bucks are focused on strengthening their roster around Giannis.
