While Jonathan Kuminga’s future with the Golden State Warriors remains up in the air, trade speculation continues to heat up. Among the teams reportedly interested in acquiring the 22-year-old are Sacramento Kings, and according to NBA insider Brett Siegel, the Warriors would be willing to negotiate—but only if a particular player is part of the deal.
“The Warriors are said to have a lot of interest in 2022 fourth-overall pick Keegan Murray and would open negotiations with the Kings should the 24-year-old be on the table, sources said,” Siegel reported.
However, the Kings appear reluctant to include Murray in any trade discussions. Instead, they’re reportedly more open to offering other names as part of a potential package for Kuminga.
“That doesn’t seem to be a path for the Kings at this moment, as they would obviously much rather see players like [Malik] Monk, Devin Carter, or newly acquired center Dario Saric walk out the door in a Kuminga deal,” Siegel added.

Murray would be a natural fit for the Warriors’ system, especially under head coach Steve Kerr. The sharpshooting forward broke Donovan Mitchell’s rookie record for most three-pointers in a debut season with 188. But all signs point to Sacramento being hesitant to let the rising star go.

Meanwhile, Golden State continues to explore frontcourt options following the departure of Kevon Looney. According to NBA reporter Marc Stein, the Warriors appear to be front-runners for former Boston Celtics center Al Horford.
“All signs, for the record, continue to point to Al Horford landing with Golden State … eventually. Sunday will be the first day of the 2025–26 salary cap year that NBA teams can make most free agent signings and trades official,” Stein reported.
The Los Angeles Lakers had also been linked to Horford earlier in the offseason. But after landing Deandre Ayton from the Portland Trail Blazers and agreeing to a one-year deal with free agent center Jaxson Hayes, the Lakers now seem to be out of the Horford sweepstakes.
