Russell Westbrook traded to the Lakers: Funniest memes and reactions

You know what they say: The rich get richer. The Los Angeles Lakers have agreed to a trade with the Washington Wizards to land former NBA MVP Russell Westbrook in what could be just the first of many big deals of the night.

The trade was reported earlier by Shams Charania and Adrian Wojnarowski but was made official during the Draft after both teams finalized terms. Obviously, the internet had a lot to say about it.

“The Washington Wizards have agreed to trade Russell Westbrook, 2024 second-round pick, 2028 second-round pick to the Los Angeles Lakers for Kyle Kuzma, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Montrezl Harrell and No. 22 tonight, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium,” reported Shams Charania.

Social media went completely nuts with this trade and for very good reasons. The Lakers are putting together a helluva Big 3 with LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and now Westbrook, even though they gave up plenty of depth. Here, we share some of the funniest memes and reactions to this shocking move:
