The Los Angeles Lakers have some interesting decisions to make ahead of the next NBA season. They don’t have much cap space, high draft picks, or valuable trade assets to try and get another star to the Staples Center.
But one thing’s for sure: the Lakers always get what they want. Moreover, LeBron James always getswhat he wants, so Rob Pelinka will most definitely find a way to get through all the hurdles and land a third All-Star for his roster sooner or later.
Then again, things could get kind of tricky for him, as he’d need to sign-and-trade Dennis Schroder and pair him with Kyle Kuzma and other assets to get something nice in return, and that doesn’t seem likely anymore.
Report: Kyle Kuzma And Dennis Schroder Didn’t Get Along, Especially In The Playoffs
According to a recent report, Schroder and Kuzma didn’t get along and feuded throughout the season. So, Schroder has virtually no incentive to agree to a sign-and-trade to continue playing with a guy he doesn’t like:
“League sources say Dennis Schroder and Kyle Kuzma feuded throughout the season, with things going further south throughout the #Lakers’ first-round series loss to Phoenix. Interesting note to consider heading into the draft and free agency,” reported Jordan Schultz of ESPN.
Schroder declined multiple offers from the Lakers and it’s clear that he’s not exactly committed to the franchise. Kuzma recently said that he could be a star if he had more chances to play, so these reports are unsurprising.
Both players are so full of themselves and do a lot of talking but not a lot of playing, especially when it matters the most. They both have difficult characters and it seems like they outgrew their welcome in the organization.
But with Schroder being in control of his destiny, the Lakers will most likely have to find another way to lure top-tier talent to the team, as Kuzma and he alone don’t hold a lot of value, but together; they could round up a decent trade package.
