Suns star Devin Booker praises Kevin Durant amid uncertainty over his future

The Phoenix Suns have one of the most talented rosters in the NBA. However, they failed to secure a playoff spot. Their season ended with a disappointing loss to the Sacramento Kings in the final regular-season game. Even though the team did not meet expectations, Kevin Durant continued to shine. He scored 30 or more points in three of the last five games. Following Durant’s strong finish, Devin Booker did not hold back in expressing his admiration for his teammate’s efforts.

“It’s been a joy (playing with Durant). From my favorite player to a teammate, I don’t take it lightly, our relationship on and off the court…I learned so much from him and I’m still learning from him day to day,” stated Devin Booker.

Although Kevin Durant received criticism from fans, he remained the Suns’ most impactful player throughout the NBA season. The veteran averaged 26.6 points, 6 rebounds, and 4.3 assists. He was the team’s top scorer and a steady presence on the floor.

At 36 years old, Durant led a group that struggled to build chemistry. The team lacked cohesion and showed clear areas for improvement. Even so, Durant continued to deliver on both ends of the court. Still, many blamed him for the Suns’ poor performance.

Devin Booker acknowledged that he learned a lot alongside the Suns veteran. However, things started to change when the team tried to trade him without notice during the last window. This move bothered the veteran deeply, and his attitude shifted from that moment on. Therefore, his departure from the team now seems like a very realistic option.
