The Pittsburgh Steelers got off to the best start in franchise history this season. They won 11 consecutive games and were the only undefeated team in the NFL through 12 weeks. Now, they’re in danger of not even winning their division.

There were a lot of doubts about the Steelers’ flawless record. Some people doubted them because they didn’t exactly dominate and barely beat teams under .500 for most of the season.

And now that they’ve dropped three straight games – two vs. subpar rivals – and with the playoffs around the corner, it’s pretty clear that there are plenty of reasons to be worried about if you’re a Steelers fan.

Mike Tomlin Says The Steelers Aren’t A Good Team Right Now

That’s why head coach Mike Tomlin had no choice but to call out himself and his team after a tough loss to the Cincinnati Bengals, especially considering what’s coming ahead on the final weeks of the season:

“We’ve got a lot of work to do. We’re not a good football group right now. And so we understand the consequences that come with that. We’re working on a short week. We’ve got to be better than what we’ve been. And that’s just the reality of it,” Tomlin said, as quoted by Pro Football Talk.

Mike Tomlin Says Ben Roethlisberger Must Be Better

And, when asked about Ben Roethlisberger’s health and his recent poor performances, Tomlin claimed that he was healthy: “It’s not injury related. It just wasn’t good enough, like all of us — me included. We’ve got to be better”.

The Steelers have barely been able to move the chains this season. They have an elite defense but that’s not enough to dominate in the league anymore. Up ahead they have the Indianapolis Colts and Cleveland Browns, so even if they’ve already clinched a playoff berth, they could still miss on their division despite starting 11-0.
