Aaron Rodgers might be considering retirement, and a sign of this could be his possible absence at the upcoming mandatory minicamp with the Pittsburgh Steelers. According to a report by Adam Schefter, if the quarterback is not signed by that date, saying goodbye to football is possible.

ā€œIt’s hard for me to imagine that if he does intend to sign with Pittsburgh that he’s going to skip the mandatory minicamp in June. Is it critical? No, it’s not. But, I think everybody could agree that, if you’re gonna be stepping into a new situation, it would be ideal to be there now. It would certainly be ideal to be there for mandatory minicamp. If he’s not there June 10th to 12th, I think at that point it’s fair to wonder if he is going to play.ā€

A few weeks ago, the Super Bowl champion quarterback acknowledged with Pat McAfee that he was not ready to commit to any team due to personal issues. That would be the reason why he is taking more time to decide.

Is Aaron Rodgers retiring?

Aaron Rodgers could retire if the situation with his family weighs more than his desire to play football. In fact, during a recent interview with Joe Rogan, the quarterback confirmed that people close to him have cancer.

Given the seriousness of the situation, Rodgers has full authority to decide what is best for him and his family. If in that scenario the Steelers decide to wait for him and in the end the player chooses to return, that will be another story.
