Green Bay Packers continue to prepare for the 2025 NFL season, aiming to surround star quarterback Jordan Love with depth on the offensive side. The team, led by head coach Matt LaFleur, is ready to add a potential key weapon to help them go far in the upcoming campaign.
LaFleur is determined to use the months leading up to the official competition to shape the Packers’ offensive unit to his liking, as the franchise has made multiple moves to strengthen its receiving corps. This means that Love will have the opportunity to refine his relationship with his potential key weapons.
It has been a busy few days in Green Bay for the composition of the new roster. In recent hours, they saved $2 million by avoiding the contract extension of Sean Rhyan after he fell just two snaps short of meeting the 35% offensive snap threshold over his first three NFL seasons. Now, the front office is preparing for another move.
Which wide receiver will join the Packers?
According to Rob Demovsky of ESPN, the Packers are about to add a new player to their receiving group and are set to finalize the arrival of wide receiver Jadon Janke, who is hoping to make his NFL debut after being part of the Miami Dolphins’ rosters.

Matt LaFleur, head coach of the Green Bay Packers, reacts against the Tennessee Titans during the second quarter at Nissan Stadium on September 22, 2024 in Nashville, Tennessee.
Janke was not selected in last year’s draft, but he had a standout college career at South Dakota State, where he accumulated 170 receptions for 2,800 yards and 30 touchdowns in 67 games. It was that performance that earned him stints with Miami and Houston.

The Packers expand their wide receiver corps
Love will have plenty of options during the preseason. The imminent addition of Janke adds to a deep wide receiver corps. In April, the Packers selected Matthew Golden and Savion Williams. At the same time, this offensive unit includes Romeo Doubs, Jayden Reed, Dontayvion Wicks, Malik Heath, Bo Melton, Christian Watson, Julian Hicks, Cornelius Johnson, and Mecole Hardman.
