Mike Tomlin and the Pittsburgh Steelers are not overly concerned about what’s happening with Aaron Rodgers. According to a report by Dan Graziano, the team is confident that the quarterback will end up signing.

“In talking to sources about this situation, I don’t get the sense the Steelers are as concerned about their quarterback room as everyone else. First of all, they remain optimistic that Rodgers will sign and be their starter, and that he’ll play better than he did last season for the Jets now that he’s one year further removed from his 2023 Achilles injury.”

The Steelers need a star quarterback to be Super Bowl contenders and that’s why fans and experts are wondering why they’ve agreed to wait so long, considering that Rodgers has publicly said he’s not sure if he’ll play next season due to issues with his inner circle.

Who will be Steelers starting quarterback?

Aaron Rodgers is the first option to be the starting quarterback for the Steelers, but Graziano has joined the voices confirming that, if that doesn’t happen, Tomlin is comfortable with Mason Rudolph as the possible leader of his offense.

“Second of all, they like Rudolph and have fresh memories of him saving their 2023 season and leading them to the playoffs when 2022 first-round pick Kenny Pickett struggled. It’s an interesting strategy in a league in which teams tend to fall all over themselves to overspend and over-insure at the position. But if the Steelers believe in their defense and their run game, they don’t think they need superstar production out of the quarterback position to have success in 2025. Better to wait and get the right guy (in 2026 Draft) than to panic and end up with the wrong one.”
