The world of the Pittsburgh Steelers is focused on one thing only: Aaron Rodgers‘ response amid negotiations to become the team’s starting quarterback for the 2025 NFL season. As the days of concrete talks go by, a key player on Mike Tomlin‘s squad has delivered a harsh message to the former Super Bowl champion with the Green Bay Packers.

There are many possibilities that could shape A-Rod’s future in 2025. From retirement to playing for one of the teams pursuing him—whether it’s the New York Giants, the Minnesota Vikings, or the Steelers. The problem is that the black & gold franchise is extending its wait during the offseason.

Rodgers’ final decision remains up in the air. All signs point to negotiations between the former New York Jets quarterback and Tomlin‘s Steelers moving forward. However, a key figure in Pittsburgh’s roster, like Cam Heyward, has openly expressed his frustration with the veteran quarterback’s lack of response.

Heyward’s harsh message to Rodgers

“I ain’t doing that darkness retreat. I don’t need any of that crap. Either you want to be a Pittsburgh Steeler or you don’t. That’s simple, that’s the pitch. If you want me to recruit, that’s the recruiting pitch. Pittsburgh Steelers — if you want to be part of it, so be it. If you don’t, no skin off my back,” was Heyward’s harsh message to Rodgers on Not Just Football with Cam Heyward.

Heyward is one of the most prominent players in the recent history of the Steelers, having been selected by the team in the first round of the 2011 NFL Draft. He has spent his entire career in Pittsburgh and has more than enough stature to voice his opinion on Rodgers’ delay.
