NFL News: Mike Tomlin’s Steelers send a very intriguing message about the future of Aaron Rodgers in Pittsburgh

The Pittsburgh Steelers continue to play the waiting game with Aaron Rodgers, but their latest public comments suggest a quiet confidence behind the scenes. With no signs of urgency and key dates passing without action, Mike Tomlin's team may know more than they're letting on about the veteran quarterback's potential arrival.

Mike Tomlin and the Pittsburgh Steelers have said very little about the current situation with Aaron Rodgers. Now, during the latest owners meeting, Art Rooney II gave a brief statement on the controversial matter.

According to a report from Jeremy Fowler, the team owner reiterated that the Steelers are ready to wait as we’re getting closer to training camp. ā€œA little while longer. I’ll say the same thing.ā€

Last month, Rooney made very similar remarks that align with multiple reports. The Steelers want the Super Bowl champion quarterback and they will be patient. The big question is: how much longer?

Will Steelers wait for Aaron Rodgers?

Yes. The Pittsburgh Steelers are willing to wait for Aaron Rodgers and have already passed several key dates that, apparently, haven’t put any pressure on them. The start of free agency, the 2025 Draft, and the schedule release were seen as potential deadlines by experts, but the quarterback didn’t budge.

Now, the next date marked on the calendar is June 10th, when the team’s mandatory minicamp begins. However, based on Rooney’s recent comments, the Steelers don’t seem desperate and appear to know something the public doesn’t about the veteran’s stance. Total uncertainty.
