Tua Tagovailoa not only dealt with physical limitations last season but also witnessed the Miami Dolphins struggle defensively. However, those issues could be addressed in 2025 if the franchise secures a star linebacker who has yet to decide on his next team.
According to a report from Dianna Russini, linebacker Joey Bosa is looking to draw interest from the Dolphins in hopes of securing an opportunity to join the franchise. While Bosa has been linked to a potential move to the 49ers, no deal has been confirmed yet.
The Dolphins have been creating cap space to make several adjustments, but it’s still unclear if they will bring in a big player like Joey Bosa next season. Until recently, Bosa had a salary of over $20 million with the Chargers, and it has yet to be confirmed whether he will leave that team.
In 2024, Bosa was available for 14 NFL games but was somewhat limited due to injuries. However, this was a significantly higher number of games compared to the injury-plagued seasons of 2022 and 2023. Last season, he recorded 22 combined tackles and 13 quarterback hits, marking his highest totals in the last three years.

Injuries Plague Joey Bosa
Last season was another year in which Bosa couldn’t escape injuries. Between August and September, he suffered three injuries, including one during a joint practice with the Rams in the preseason. This injury was a grade 1 fracture that required surgery but didn’t keep him out of games with the Chargers.

It’s true that Bosa was quite limited between 2022 and 2023, playing just 14 games over those two seasons—a relatively low number. However, prior to those years, he was a three-time Pro Bowler (2019, 2020, 2021). He could be a valuable addition for the Dolphins, especially considering his postseason experience.
