The Gold Cup 2021 is about to begin as all 16 teams are ready to begin the battle for the Concacaf ultimate trophy. The USMNT will start its quest for a new title soon, and here we will take a look at its schedule during this tournament.
Even though Gregg Berhalter has decided not to bring his A-team for this contest, the United States national team is expected to have a deep run in the Concacaf competition and fight for its seventh Gold Cuptrophy.
The USMNT came up short in the previous edition, losing at Mexico in the grand final two years ago. This time, Berhalter’s boys will try to prove they’re up to the challenge and give their all to win silverwareat home. The USMNT is in Group B alongside Haiti, Martinique, and Canada.
USMNT vs Haiti – July 11
The USMNT will begin its Gold Cup 2021 campaign against Haiti on Sunday, July 11, at 8:30 PM (ET) at Children’s Mercy Park in Kansas City, home to the MLS side Sporting KC. It should be an easy test for the hosts, although Haiti shouldn’t be underestimated.
USMNT vs Martinique – July 15
Shortly after making its 2021 Gold Cup debut, Gregg Berhalter’s side will face Martinique on Thursday, July 15, at 9:30 PM (ET) once again at Children’s Mercy Park. Unless it suffers a shock on Matchday 1, the USMNT should head comfortably to this game and will be expected to get another good result.
USMNT vs Canada – July 18
The tougher opponent of the group stage will be waiting for the USMNT on Sunday, July 18, at 5 PM (ET) once again at Sporting KC’s home. Canada are the other favorite to secure one of the two qualifying spots and this game could be a battle for the first seed, depending on their previous results.
