The 33-year-old’s form went down in the last couple of seasons, as he not only became older but remained sidelined with continuous muscular injuries as well. There’s no doubt that he became a club legend in one of the most prosperous years in Los Blancos’ history, but his best days seem to be way behind him.

Ferland Mendy has been Real Madrid‘s starter until he got injured, but the club will be probably looking for other options than staying with Marcelo, even though he still has one year left in his contract. According to Spanish outlet As, the Merengues and the player would reach an agreement to break the deal this summerfor the best of both.

Moreover, that newspaper has reported that Inter Miami might be interested in landing the left-back. Club owner, David Beckham, met Marcelo in Real Madrid duringthe second half of the 2006/07 season before his shocking move to LA Galaxy. Many years later, the Britishman has ambitious plans for his MLS team and wants to go further with another massive signing.

While the left-back may not be a priority for the Spanish side anymore, he would be a high-profile addition for The Herons. Asides from his talent and experience, Marcelo’s arrival would provide Inter Miami another well-known superstar that might attract fans to the stadiums and sell jerseys. For the Brazilian figure, it would be the best way to spend the final days of his playing career ina different league living in a beautiful city. The move seems more than plausible, although he would have to reduce his salary demands.
