Nearly a month later, the South American 2022 World Cup Qualifiers are back with another exciting triple-fixture in the October international window. Paraguay and Argentina face off for the second time on the road to Qatar. The game will be broadcast in the US by FuboTV.

La Albirroja have struggled to get results at the beginning of the tournament but they concluded the September fixtures with their first win in six games. However, Eduardo Berizzo's boys have plenty of work to do as they have only claimed two triumphs so far, both of them against Venezuela.

La Albiceleste, meanwhile, make the trip to Asuncion in high spirits after winning the 2021 Copa America only a few months ago and having emerged victorious from their last WC Qualifiers affairs as well. Here, let's take a look at the confirmed lineups of both teams.

Paraguay starting XI

If there's one thing we have learned from Eduardo Berizzo's tenure is that Paraguay's lineup can be completely unpredictable, it can change from one game to another. The Argentine coach has tried all kinds of systems but wasn't satisfied with any of them so far.

Berizzo, however, mentioned that his team will try to put pressure on its upcoming rivals. Given that Paraguay will probably step into the Defensores del Chaco with an offensive-minded play style, this is how they will line up: Antony Silva; Robert Rojas, Gustavo Gomez, Junior Alonso, Omar Alderete, Santiago Arzamendia; Jorge Morel, Mathias Villasanti, Miguel Almiron; Angel Romero, Antonio Sanabria.

Argentina confirmed lineup

Argentina's lineup, on the other hand, was more predictable given that Lionel Scaloni found a system that paid off with players who have become undisputed starters for La Albiceleste.

The Copa America success has been key for this strong belief in a certain starting eleven but it has been on the making for a while. However, Scaloni will make two changes for this game. Lautaro Martinez was suddenly ruled out with a muscle injury and Joaquín Correa will take his place. Additionally, Nahuel Molina has won the right-back spot over Gonzalo Montiel.

This is how Argentina will line up: Emiliano Martínez; Nahuel Molina, Cristian Romero, Nicolas Otamendi, Marcos Acuña; Angel Di Maria, Rodrigo De Paul, Leandro Paredes, Giovani Lo Celso; Joaquin Correa, Lionel Messi.
